Two of our teachers took books donated by Hall Orchard to Gondar Community School in Ethiopia to start a library. The children began sharing knowledge and developing friendships across the continents through sending and receiving letters as pen pals, which were delivered by more Hall Orchard teachers making the trip.

The children at Hall Orchard have sponsored a child through the Kindu Trust. Hiwot lost both of her parents and was living in a single room with her grandmother with no water, toilet or electricity.  Through fund raising activities Hall Orchard has changed Hiwot's life.

The trip to Gondar has become a tradition at Hall Orchard with numerous teachers and friends of the school, including the Head teacher, taking donations to and teaching at Gondar Community School.
