News from the Chair of Governors

The Governing Board, school staff and parents alike are key stakeholders into the performance of the school and the quality of the education our children receive.

With the start of the new academic year and a new five-year strategic plan, I wanted to take this opportunity to share these changes with you so that you are aware of the activities underpinning the actions being taken by the school.

Our vision is:

For our children to be confident, ambitious learners who demonstrate the personal values and skills necessary to make a positive contribution to the global community.

To be an excellent school where all children achieve their best.

The Governing Board uses this vision to set ambitious targets to be delivered to set timescales. We wanted to share our strategic targets with you as we believe these targets will drive the school into delivering our vision.

Strategic Targets:

For all teaching to be at least ‘good’
with the majority to be ‘outstanding’.

For pupil attainment and progress to be in the top quintile.
Pupil attendance to be above the National average. Vision and values are explicit and implicit throughout the school.

To ensure we maintain existing excellent standards with regard to the provision of a broad curriculum and Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) education.

To ensure our governance and operational
Leadership structures and systems support our specific aims and enable the school to respond to change

To continue to develop our existing working
partnerships with other schools and to explore options for future partnership arrangements

To continue to develop the site to meet the growing needs of the school.

The school is already working hard to deliver these targets with an ambitious and challenging development plan. We already have a great school, great staff and a strong and proud Governing Board which will continue to support the school in delivering its development plan and driving continuous improvement.
