School Sports Funding
At Hall Orchard Primary School, we are committed to promoting the importance of good health and well-being for all of our pupils. Having audited the current practice and provision of sport at Hall Orchard, we have developed an action plan in order to continue to improve PE provision and raise involvement, engagement and achievement for all pupils in physical education.
What is School Sport Funding?
School Sports Funding is part of an initiative introduced by the Government in 2013-14 to ensure that in the wake of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games a sporting legacy can be fulfilled. The funding is provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and ensures that the funding goes directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and physical education for all children.
To ensure appropriate use the funding can only be spent on physical education provision within school, with school annually outlining the intended use and subsequent impact it has had in relation to key criteria set out by the government.
