Non-fiction - On The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin (Sabina Radeva adaptation) Children read an adaptation of Charles Darwin’s famous treatise linked to their ‘Out of Africa’ science topic. The children read a variety of scientific reports related to animal adaptation, focussing on formal and technical language. |
Grammar focus (including SATs revision): SATS revision to be dictated by QLA from March test paper, but will include the following: active/passive sentences; verb tenses (progressive/perfect forms); levels of formality.
Write a scientific report The children write their own scientific report about an imaginary animal that has adapted to its environment. Pictorial representations of Flanimals are used as inspiration. |
